If you’re staying with us at Lower Winsford Farm and fancy a lovely little trip out, Strawberry Fields Farm Shop in Lifton is definitely one to add to your list.

Sitting just over the border in Cornwall, Strawberry Fields is much more than a farm shop. It’s one of those places where you can pop in for a coffee and somehow find yourself still there a few hours later!

Pick Your Own

One of our favourite things about Strawberry Fields is the Pick Your Own. Depending on the season, there are different fruits, flowers and produce available to pick, making it a lovely activity for couples and families alike.

Much of the fruit is grown in tunnels too, so even the slightly unpredictable Devon and Cornwall weather doesn’t necessarily have to spoil the fun!

During sunflower season, the fields are particularly beautiful and well worth a visit – and, of course, perfect for a few holiday photos.

Meet the Animals

It’s not just about strawberries! You’ll also find animals to say hello to, including their gorgeous Highland cows, which are always worth stopping to see.

After spending time cuddling our alpacas, goats and chickens back at Lower Winsford Farm, you can continue the animal theme on your day out!

Farm Shop & Local Produce

The farm shop is packed with delicious local produce, fresh fruit and vegetables, meats, cheeses, bakery treats and plenty of tempting goodies to take back to your cottage.

It’s a great place to pick up something special for dinner, ingredients for a BBQ or a few treats to enjoy later while relaxing in your private hot tub back at the farm.

Stop for Something to Eat

Of course, no visit is complete without food!

Strawberry Fields has a lovely restaurant and café where you can stop for breakfast, lunch, coffee or something sweet. It’s the perfect excuse to slow down for a while and enjoy some good local food before continuing your adventures.

Make It Part of Your Stay

One of the things we love most about living here is having so many wonderful independent businesses, farm shops and attractions within easy reach.

You can spend the morning exploring Strawberry Fields before heading off to discover more of Devon and Cornwall – or simply return to Lower Winsford Farm, put your feet up and enjoy the lake, woodland and animals.

Then perhaps finish the day with a glass of something lovely in the hot tub while the countryside settles down for the evening.
